Meet the Innkeepers at the Candleberry Inn
Stu and Charlotte Fyfe, your innkeepers, have lived, worked and raised four children in Brewster since 1982. We purchased this landmark Inn in 2004 in order to continue the Candleberry’s 200 year old tradition of hospitality and to share our love of Brewster. and Cape Cod with our guests.
Charlotte is a fifth generation Cape Codder, the great granddaughter of Grand Banks schooner captains. Gardening, baking and creating an authentic oasis of Cape Cod hospitality, tradition and culture are her passions. She continues to work for a nonprofit family advocacy center where she teaches prepared childbirth and parent education classes, as well as administering the John A. Henry Trust for the benefit of low income children residing in Provincetown.
Recently retire, Stu’s thirty year career as a teacher, coach and athletic director prepared him well for organizing the tasks it takes to be a successful innkeeper! He enjoys restoration and woodworking- both at the inn and on his 22’ wooden gaff sloop, Redwing, which is berthed in nearby Sesuit Harbor. Stu’s culinary skills are legendary- he is as adept at preparing a delicious and imaginitive breakfast as he is dishing up a lobster boil on board his boat.
You will undoubtedly be greeted by our Scottish and West Highland White Terriers, Maggie and Fiona who reside with us in the owner’s quarters. They like to bark and pretend to be the “inn security force” but they are utterly useless and are only interested in having their bellies rubbed and cadging forbidden treats from guests.
